Timber products

Timber windows & doors are widely recognised as the most attractive choice for traditional buildings and have a similar appeal on many contemporary designs. For heritage areas, timber windows are the preferred choice of planning authorities due to their traditional appearance and materials The manufacturing flexibility that the material allows gives an almost unlimited range of options to give a product that exactly meets the specification. This all leads to a more attractive development that adds significant value to a property. With modern design and coatings the material is enduring and requires very low maintenance. Its ability to absorb carbon also means that it has a very positive effect on the environment.

                                Sash windows
A sash window or hung sash window is made of one or more movable panels or "sashes" that form a frame to hold panes of glass which are often separated from other panes (or "lights") by narrow muntin bars. Although any window with this style of glazing is technically "a sash", the term is used almost exclusively to refer to windows where the glazed panels are opened by sliding vertically or horizontally in a style known as a "Yorkshire light", sliding sash or sash and case (so called because the weights are concealed in a box case). The sash window dates back to the Wren period and their use goes through their peak of elegance in the late Georgian times and common use by the Victorian and Edwardian. It appears in Vermeer's painting The Milkmaid which dates to 1658. The design of the sash window is attributed to the English scientist and inventor, Robert Hooke. The oldest known examples of sash windows were installed in England in the 1670s, for example at Ham House.

                                 Casement windows
Casement windows are windows which are attached to their frame by one or more hinges and they are hinged at the side. Windows hinged at the top are referred to as awning windows or top hung. Flush casement windows are characterised by openers that close into the frame and finish flush with the face of the window.

Bi-fold doors
Our timber bi-fold doors make a unique design statement. The doors stack compactly to the side to allow complete opening of the aperture. The result is a liberating feeling of open plan living, which really breaks down the barriers between home and garden. Versatile and stylish, the system is available in our full colour range.

Tilt &Turn timber windows

'Tilt & Turn' windows are inward opening with a dual function mechanism. The first turn of the handle through 90° allows the window/door to open inwards but when the handle is turned through 180° the window/door will tilt inwards at the top to allow for free ventilation while still providing a very high degree of protection against inclement weather.

Our product and its benefits:

  •       Our timber products are varnished with German Remmers acrylic paint, coated hydrodynamically which makes them resistant to all environmental influences for years so you can be confident of getting a product that will last. With our coating system, maintenance of the timber products is quick and simple. No longer is a hot air gun / blow torch required, but instead a quick wipe down and a brush coat of the correct paint is enough to protect the window for much extended period.
  •      The properties of timber enable very high thermal performance with standard profiles. With modern manufacturing methods they can now achieve the highest levels of performance for weather tightness and security. Timber is a natural insulator, and when teamed with high-performance glass, it offers superb insulation against heat loss from your home. Our normal standard sealed glass units are Argon filled  (low emission K=1,1 W/m²) so the product is a highly energy efficient choice for environmentally conscious buyers. Not only is energy efficiency good for the environment but it will also provide a return on the initial investment of a timber window project.

  •    Our suppliers take pride in using only the highest quality wood from sustainable sources. We have a full range of timber products manufactured from European engineered hardwood or softwood (from oak through pine or meranti). The wood is engineered (3 layers) to provide opposing grains that will dramatically reduce expansion and contraction. Prior to assembly they are treated with a preservative base/primer coat followed by 2 coats of micro-porous paint or stain.
  •      Many window styles can be produced with a wide range of accessories such as locking mechanisms, restrictors, handles and fasteners. Customisation and bespoke work gives you a product that reflects the requirements to suit your home.
    For s
ecurity and peace of mindwe utilise high performance hinges and locking systems.

Our wooden products come with:
- 10 year guarantee for frame
